I'm Back

Well I’m officially aloud to blog again. I have finished student teaching and (drum roll please) my teacher work sample! For those of you not familiar with it, my teacher work sample has been the bane of my existence since…. Well January. It is, to put it simply, a big long hideous report of everything I did for one unit I taught along with an analysis of student learning my teaching. I should have finished it bit by bit as I student taught, but I didn’t. Yes folks you are reading the blog of a world class procrastinator, but as of 8 this morning I am finished and one big step closer to graduating. Now I have one class left (again with the procrastinating, I should have taken this 2 years ago, but I was waiting for my favorite professor to be teaching it). So, even with student teaching and TWS (my pet name for my teacher work sample) over and done with I will still have very little time for all the things I enjoy the most, like blogging and playing peek-a-boo with little Jack. I won’t bore you with my to-do list, but later I will have to bore myself with it, but not until I have celebrated the completion of two lengthy and time consuming tasks Oooh-rah as a Marine would say, but I’m not a Marine, so I’m not aloud to say it, so instead Hazaa and Hooray!!
And while I revel in that bit of good news I will also share the wonderful accomplishments of the ever changing Jack. He is as cute as ever and is still a delight of a baby. He hardly fusses or cries, and while he is again not sleeping through the night, he is at least easy to get to sleep. This morning while I was finishing up my TWS he was playing on a blanket. He started to get a bit fussy, but I wanted to finish up quickly, so I let him fuss for a couple minutes, and by the time I got to him he had snuggled his blanket around him and fallen asleep—so cute! We have officially moved him to his own room to sleep It’s been hard on me, but I’m getting used to it. Among other exciting developments, he is very close to sitting up on his own, and can do so for about 5 seconds before toppling over. He loves to grab and hold onto everything, especially the dog. He gets very angry if Roxy ignores him when he wants to pet her. Another fun thing is his mouth toots, I don’t know how else to describe what he does, so I hope that makes sense. Sometimes he does it when his binky is in his mouth and he makes it fly across the room. It’s rather funny.
Finally Tyler has also reached an exciting milestone, one more completed semester! He took both of his finals last night and felt pretty good about both of them, not to mention he got some extra credit on a final project in nutrition for giving such a good presentation (it was about chocolate, so how could it not be good). I am thankful that he is going to have at least a little downtime for a little bit, at least until he starts some online classes to shift into his transition from UVSC to Weber State.
I know this was a ridiculously long entry, but it has been over a month since my last posting, so I had to catch you all up. Expect pictures soon.
